Sustainable wastewater system

Sustainable wastewater system

Veolia Water Technologies has been awarded a contract by the Italian company Riso Scotti (Pavia) to design and build a new wastewater treatment plant for its production facility in Pavia near Milan. As proof of its commitment to sustainable solutions, Riso Scotti will use the biogas generated during wastewater treatment in its production process.

With a treatment capacity of 900 m3/day, the project scope includes several processes. For anaerobic and aerobic wastewater treatment, Veolia's patented Biothane UASB and AnoxKaldnes MBBR technologies enable an efficiency of up to 90% in the removal of organic matter. The treatment is completed by an Idraflot (DAF) flotation system as the final treatment stage of the wastewater, which provides a further increase in the removal of suspended solids and suspended solids. The combination of the individual processes ensures that the wastewater is treated in an environmentally friendly and economical manner.
