Women in water and waste management expert committee

Women in the water and waste management industry are looking for a good network and are striving for a better lobby. Although the number of well-educated women in the industry is increasing, the working world of water management is still clearly male-dominated.

In August last year, the DWA founded the BIS-14 "Women in Water and Waste Management" expert committee, which has now been constituted.

The chairwoman of the committee is Bernadette Godart, whose main job is Head of Management Systems at the Wupper Association. Her deputy is Margit Heinz, Head of the Digitalization and Communication Department at the Niersverband. Around 40 women from the industry from all over Germany met for a joint workshop back in February 2020. They identified key areas that will now be fleshed out in working groups of the expert committee.
