Additive ideas in demand - project against the coronavirus

Together with institutions from all over Europe, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is supporting companies in the EU project AMable in the realization of additive manufacturing ideas. The AMable partners are calling for ideas to be submitted in a first step and suitable solution concepts for the additive manufacturing of new products in a second step.

Additive manufacturing allows products to be produced quickly and flexibly. The AMable partners support companies and contribute their expertise in process-reliable 3D printing with materials of all kinds. The focus is on measures for the fast and reliable supply of hospitals, medical practices and nursing staff in particular with solutions for their vital work, and there are already many ideas from SMEs for solving this urgent task with the help of additive processes.

AMable offers universal support in all phases of additive manufacturing. The platform's partners have the necessary expertise for reliable 3D printing with materials of all kinds, from plastic or metal to ceramics. At the moment, however, the solution for the small extruder 3D printer is more in demand so that products can be produced on site if required. Ideas for 3D printing are in demand that can be used, for example, to carry out medical technology work better and more easily than before.
