The chemical distributor Brenntag from Essen is a new partner of Wissensfabrik - Unternehmen für Deutschland e. V. The aim of Wissensfabrik is to inspire young people with practical and playful teaching materials for STEM subjects and to strengthen their educational opportunities.

Founded in 2005, the Wissensfabrik is a nationwide network of around 130 German companies from all sectors. By supporting the association, Brenntag aims to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in its own industry. "I studied chemistry myself and know from my own experience how important early impulses and practical experience are for the educational path. As part of our collaboration with the Wissensfabrik, we are actively contributing our expertise, particularly in chemistry and chemical distribution, to the network," says Dr. Christian Kohlpaintner, CEO of Brenntag SE.

Brenntag's involvement is both financial and operational. As part of its membership, Brenntag supports the network in carrying out practical STEM education projects, workshops and school visits at schools free of charge. The first projects are planned for 2025.
