Coronavirus: Uniform occupational health and safety standards

The German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the energy, textile, electrical and media products industries (BG ETEM) welcomes the uniform regulations on occupational health and safety in light of the coronavirus pandemic. These standards were presented to the public by Federal Labour Minister Hubertus Heil together with the Managing Director of the German Social Accident Insurance, Dr. Stefan Hussy.

These key points emphasize the continued high importance of occupational health and safety in connection with the protection against infection that is now also required when the economy starts up again and provide concrete advice on operational precautions, for example on safety distances or hygiene measures.

"We are supporting our member companies in translating these rules into operational practice," emphasizes Johannes Tichi, Chairman of the BG ETEM Management Board.

Companies can already find industry-specific information for numerous professions and fields of work at www.bgetem.de/corona. This information is updated and expanded on an ongoing basis. Industry experts can also answer questions on prevention topics by calling 0221 3778-7777. The BG ETEM's coronavirus hotline is available Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00.
