Green hydrogen is the key for industry, mobility, electricity and heat supply in order to achieve climate targets and implement the energy transition. Efficient electrolysers are needed for the cost-effective, decentralized production of this climate-neutral gas.
One such solution is EcoLyzer, modular systems for alkaline pressure electrolysis, for which Ecoclean has recently started series production. The globally active company's robust, low-maintenance electrolysers are offered as scalable stand-alone solutions and turnkey systems in the power range from 1 to 20 MW. After initially realizing a test bench for testing and validating electrolysis stacks with a maximum output of 500 kW and a diameter of up to 1,500 mm and an electrolysis demonstrator ready for series production, Ecoclean is now starting series production of the EcoLyzer systems.
The compact electrolysers are technologically based on a system technology for alkaline pressure electrolysis developed and optimized by the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW). One of the advantages of this proven and robust technology is that it does not require resource-critical raw materials such as precious metals or rare earths. Designed as modular units, the electrolysers enable the cost-efficient construction of plants with a system output of 1 to 20 MW in the vicinity of the energy generator (solar, wind, water), which can be expanded at a later date. The modular principle ensures economical production and comparatively short delivery times of currently twelve months. The durable systems deliver high gas quality and a system pressure of up to 30 bar.
