Färber & Schmid: Specialists in industrial wastewater chemistry and process engineering

Since its foundation in 1994, the development of today's Färber & Schmid group of companies has been an impressive success story that will continue in the future - always at the cutting edge!

From its headquarters in Switzerland and its subsidiary in Germany, Färber & Schmid today supplies a worldwide customer base with a convincing product range of highly effective specialty chemicals for the treatment of industrial waste water from the electroplating and surface technology, chemical and waste disposal industries.

As a developer and producer of surface chemicals, waste water and environmental technology, the company manufactures innovative and sustainable products that meet the highest standards and maintains an uncompromising understanding of quality.

From the very beginning, Horst Färber and Felix Schmid put their visions into action with entrepreneurial vision. An important reason for the company's rapid growth in recent years is effective raw material procurement and risk management. Especially today, in times of disrupted supply chains and reduced availability, this strategic orientation is proving its worth and supply security for customers is 100% guaranteed. Färber & Schmid has the necessary storage and production capacities and continues to deliver just-in-time.

Bringing innovative and future-oriented products to the market that meet the highest economic and ecological requirements today and tomorrow, combined with a corporate culture based on ethical principles and fair play, are further key success factors.

With a passion for top performance and quality products, the entire F&S team of specialists is in close contact with customers and develops individual solutions and processes with optimum savings and efficiency for customers.

In the field of heavy metal precipitants, the constantly expanding product range now includes compounds that go far beyond the tried and tested Diplexin P series (organosulphides):

  • HydroMet-Alpha series: environmentally and user-friendly heavy metal precipitants of water hazard class 1, which are free of organosulphides (DMDTC) and resulting odor nuisance during use.
  • With Diplexin-HP products, waste water from zinc-nickel processes can be treated safely, reliably and highly efficiently. Liquid Diplexin S-100 replaces sodium sulphide scales with better performance and easier, safer handling.
  • Completely free of sulphide compounds is the fully automatically controllable Metal-Ex process, which offers many advantages over conventional heavy metal precipitation processes. Koagullin types and ZetaPol flocculants, as well as other special products tailored to requirements, optimally condition the wastewater to be treated and round off the product range.
