Following his visit to the White House, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz was a guest at the Family Business Days in Berlin at the beginning of June. Marie-Christine Ostermann, President of the association, welcomed the Chancellor at the annual conference under the motto "A new start!" with the words: "Just as we appreciate your commitment to foreign policy, we now expect a clear change of course in economic policy from you after the leaden years of the traffic light: we all need an economic turnaround and we need it now. You have us at your side without any ifs or buts when it comes to competition and the market economy. However, we are not in favor of state subsidies, market intervention or regulation."
"We are determined to get this country back on track."
Chancellor Merz said: "We are determined to get this country back on track." He explained that there are many things that cannot be solved internationally alone. "But the problems we have in Germany can be solved by our own efforts," said Merz. "Let's get the new start off the ground together." And he emphasized that the tax relief for the economy would be decided by the summer break.
