Healthy growth - continuity is part of our DNA

Michael Hannusch, son of the company founders, has been Managing Director of Hannusch Industrieelektronik, Laichingen, since the beginning of 2022. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was not possible to interview him on site at the time. This has now been made up for.

There are no major or even fundamental changes as a result of the change in management, as the family business is committed to sustainability, as was explained during the interview. Accordingly, and to ensure long-term customer satisfaction, continuity is part of the company's DNA.

Hannusch Industrieelektronik was founded in 1988 and has continued to develop itself and its portfolio ever since. Today, the EMS company employs over 50 permanent and ten temporary staff. The company offers services ranging from SMT and THT production (prototypes and series) to partial and complete assembly of devices to control cabinet and system construction. AOI, MXI, ICT, individual functional and final tests as well as painting, potting, logistics and packaging management, rework, after-sales service and PCN management are also offered.

Training is also part of the portfolio. Hannusch Training and Technology, a subsidiary that has since been incorporated, is a founding member and accredited training institution of the Ausbildungsverbund Löttechnik Elektronik (AVLE) and offers, among other things, training to become an AVLE specialist for soldering technology.

Long-term, trusting and customer-oriented growth with satisfied customers

For many years, Hannusch Industrieelektronik has stood for reliability, personal and individual support, enormous flexibility, technical expertise and high quality standards as well as a coherent price-performance ratio. Future orientation, healthy growth and the simultaneous consideration of economic, ecological and social aspects characterize the company's philosophy.

Customer requirements are the benchmark and goal for Hannusch Industrieelektronik. The fact that this is lived comprehensively is already evident at reception: even after the end of the legally prescribed measures against the Covid pandemic, wearing a mask and a rapid test per week as well as for visitors are mandatory, as some customers request this in order to minimize risks for the supply chain.

Situation and measures for the future

The company has practically not changed as a result of the change in management. As before, Michael Hannusch is responsible for technology in addition to the management and Claudia Hannusch continues to be active in the areas of marketing and sales. The formerly independent profit areas 'ESD' and 'Training' have been integrated. Otherwise, everything is as before, including the contact persons for customers.

By consistently implementing the Covid measures, Hannusch Industrieelektronik has succeeded in maintaining operations without closures, as there have only ever been isolated cases and these have been discovered immediately where necessary.

The order situation is currently more than good and many more new inquiries are being received as a number of companies (want to) bring services back from abroad. The base load is already covered for the whole year at the start of the year. In addition to other industrial customers, the main drivers are the battery technology and e-bike sectors.

Der neue Divisio Nutzentrenner ermöglicht mehr Flexibilität und höhere QualitätThe new Divisio depaneling system enables greater flexibility and higher qualityMaterialavailability has been improving againsincethe last quarter of 2022. Nevertheless, there are still difficulties in the longer term, as certain power semiconductors in particular are only available with extremely long delivery times (in some cases over a year). Hannusch Industrieelektronik reacted at an early stage and increased its stocks. As individual components are often not delivered on time, production cannot go ahead as planned and stock levels continue to build up. It is currently around five times the 2021 level, although the situation is now stabilizing again.

Personnel availability, on the other hand, remains an ongoing problem. It has been difficult to find skilled workers for years. This is why Hannusch Industrieelektronik is training electronics technicians and industrial clerks. In addition, there are educational partnerships with several schools ('school meets business') and 'technology days' are organized to arouse interest. Despite ongoing job advertisements, suitable applicants are rarely found. With sufficient staff, we could have produced significantly more last year and further increased turnover.

Investment projects for the best service and the environment

In the last two years, a new Divisio depaneling machine from ASYS has been purchased and the closed loop from the SPI to the printer has been implemented in two SMT lines. A smaller extension is now being built to create space for a new coating line. In addition, the existing PV system on the roof is to be expanded, doubling its capacity. The PV output is currently just under 100kWp, which corresponds to aCO2 reduction of around 70 tons per year. The use of waste heat is also being further expanded. The company is also investigating whether it makes sense to generate its own N2. Comprehensive sustainability is strived for and practiced, as evidenced by the ISO 14001 certification that has been in place for years. Driven by customers, who increasingly want a "transparent factory", the company is constantly pushing ahead with digitalization.

Mit Closed Loop ausgerüstete SMT-LinienSMT lines equipped with Closed LoopIn order tobe able to meet customer requirements flexibly, quickly, reliably, economically and as environmentally friendly as possible in the future, further investment projects are already being considered. Hannusch Industrieelektronik wants to offer the best possible individual service in all areas in the long term.
