The insolvent Britze Elektronik und Gerätebau GmbH continues to operate after an agreement was reached with the Austrian investor Simentum. The business operations of Britze Elektronik were taken over in full as part of an asset deal. As a result, the majority of jobs have been retained and key customer relationships continue to exist. Managing Director Thorsten Reiche will also remain in his position: "We are delighted that we have overcome this hurdle with the active support of our investor and can now start to shape the future of the company." In future, the electronics specialist will operate under the name Britze electronic.
Investor Simentum is a holding company that already has other subsidiaries from the production and electronics sector in its portfolio. Britze electronic can therefore rely on expertise and synergies within the industry, which will make it easier for the company to reposition itself and support the expansion of its market position. The development and production of electronic assemblies and devices is to be expanded and the product range for shipbuilding extended.
Material prices and customer insolvency lead to imbalance
Despite a fundamentally positive business development, Britze's earnings and liquidity situation deteriorated. On the one hand, this was due to high purchase prices caused by a shortage of materials in the electronics sector. Added to this was the insolvency of one of the company's main customers, the MV-Werften Group. Despite immediate efforts, Britze Elektronik was unable to continue the necessary restructuring out of court. Managing Director Thorsten Reiche therefore filed for insolvency at the responsible district court in Charlottenburg. Following a court order, provisional insolvency proceedings were opened on April 1, 2022. In the course of the proceedings, insolvency administrator Joachim Voigt-Salus and his team succeeded in stabilizing the company's business operations and continuing them in full.
Founded in 1977, Britze electronic is a medium-sized company that offers the entire range of services of an EMS service provider, from customer-specific electronics development, electronics production and cable assembly to after-sales service. The company plans and manufactures complete systems and devices as well as individual components. They can be used in various areas such as shipbuilding, railroad technology, operating theaters, large industrial plants or building technology.
