Compact inductors for high currents: The EPCOS ERU-SMT power inductors in TDK's ERU16 series, measuring just 17.3 x 16.5 mm, require twelve percent less PCB space than the previous series. The low height of 7.55 mm (1.0 μH) or 11.1 mm (30 μH) depends on the type. The flat design is made possible by the flat wire winding used, which also ensures reduced losses. A third solder pad ensures particularly high mechanical stability on the PCB.
The inductance values of the chokes range from 1.0 μH to 30 μH. Their DC resistances range between 1 mΩ and 15.4 mΩ, the saturation currents are in the range of 10.3 to 40.4 A DC, at an operating temperature of 25 °C. The high-current chokes are suitable for the temperature range from -40 to 150°C. They are RoHS-compatible and qualified in accordance with AEC-Q200 and are suitable for use in POL and DC-DC converters, high-current power supply units, inverters for PV systems and inverters in hybrid and electric vehicles.
