The Berlin-based EMS provider elkotec EMS has extended the reliable availability of older assemblies for a customer with its rework concept. For a manufacturer of load lifting systems, it was important to ensure the functionality of installed older assemblies in order to safeguard and provide spare parts and thus ensure the continued operation of these vehicles and to keep obsolete parts available.
The Berlin-based EMS service provider elkotec was commissioned to clarify the function and functionality of older electronic assemblies. In cooperation with the Berlin test house 'Endtest', test applications were implemented from customer information with samples, parts lists, circuit diagrams and Gerber data. A reassembling was created using a flying probe test concept. At the same time, the old graphic data supplied was updated to the latest CAD data. The customer then received precise information about the status and possible uses of these older assemblies with regard to upcoming PCB assemblies.
