Stannol was the first company in the soldering industry to submit a voluntary sustainability declaration as part of the German Sustainability Code (DNK), which is compiled by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The report outlines sustainability strategies and measures that the company implemented in 2022. Based on twenty defined criteria and performance indicators, Stannol provides information on resource management, climate-relevant emissions and compliance with human rights, among other things.
The Code was drawn up by the German Council for Sustainable Development. It was first appointed in 2001 by the then German government. The Code supports companies in developing a sustainability strategy and offers them the opportunity to provide regular information on this strategy. The Sustainability Code database allows the reports of around 1000 registered companies to be compared with each other. These include large and small, public and private companies.
