Margrit Harting celebrated her 75th birthday on February 3, 2020. She married the businessman Dietmar Harting in 1971 and joined the technology group of the same name in Espelkamp, which was founded in 1945, in 1987 and has been shaping the style and image of the family business as manager, board member and creative senior partner ever since.
After taking over responsibility for personnel, quality, plant facilities, advertising and public relations, she gave the medium-sized company a modern image. With the research prize for boys and girls of primary school age and the modern NAZHA training center, among other things, she has had an impact beyond the boundaries of the company and the region. This was also recognized by Espelkamp's mayor Heinrich Vieker in 2009 when Dietmar and Margrit Harting were awarded honorary citizenship.
For 22 years as a member of the General Assembly of the East Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce and twelve years as its Vice President, Margrit Harting championed the interests of the economy and the region. She was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2008 and honorary citizenship of Leibniz Universität Hannover in 2018. There is no question of stopping, Margrit Harting still has many plans.
