Bonding is considered to be the future technology of our century, increasingly replacing traditional processes such as welding, riveting and sewing. The specialist wholesalers in the VTH Verband Technischer Handel e.V. want to help shape this cross-industry manufacturing trend with the founding of an "Adhesive Bonding Technology" specialist group. They came together in Norderstedt in mid-May 2019 for the founding meeting. 21 companies joined and elected a five-member board. As Chairman, Uwe Kittel (Krückemeyer, Wilnsdorf) will now be supported by his deputies David Schlesinger (Wendler, Aue), Andreas Fritz (Reiff, Reutlingen), Tilman Heise (Piel, Halle/Saale) and Rolf Kater (JK, Kempen).
The high quality that an almost unmanageable variety of adhesives and adhesive tapes have achieved in recent years, for example for vehicle and lightweight construction, is all too often met with incorrect handling in application. As a result, 80 to 90 percent of processing errors are process- or personnel-related. The members of the specialist group would like to support their customers throughout the D-A-CH region in their efforts to achieve high quality in product selection and application. Discussions included the conception of a specialist consultant training course, the systematic creation of sample solutions and the exchange with educational institutions, research institutes and brand manufacturers. The four VTH quality partners Henkel, Sika, Ruderer (technicoll) and Weicon are pleased about the foundation and have already pledged their support for future projects of the "Adhesive Bonding Technology" specialist group.
