Dr. Klaus Leyendecker celebrated his 55th birthday at the beginning of November. Dr. Leyendecker began his career in the electroplating industry at Degussa in Schwäbisch Gmünd. There he completed an apprenticeship as an electroplater and metal grinder. He then went to Aalen University of Applied Sciences for a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in surface technology and materials science.
Dr. Klaus Leyendecker completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Corrosion Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester.
As if learning wasn't enough, Dr. Leyendecker went on to study mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (Dr.-Ing.) and completed a technical business administration degree at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Heidenheim.
Dr. Klaus Leyendecker has been working at Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH, formerly Degussa AG, since 1995. First as laboratory manager of the base metal department and later as division manager of this department. Since 2017, Dr. Leyendecker has been responsible for Strategic Business Development within Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH.
Dr. Klaus Leyendecker is married and has numerous hobbies, including cooking (and eating), hiking, his garden, he enjoys traveling and likes to visit cities and monuments. He likes people, dogs (Dr. Leyendecker owns two himself) and, unsurprisingly after 36 years in the industry, electroplating.
