With the acquisition of Eurochiller Srl, an Italian manufacturer of industrial cooling units, Atlas Copco entered the market for process cooling systems in May 2019. The company is now also offering its first TCX process chiller series in Germany.
In many industrial production processes, process cooling systems, also known as chillers, are used for process cooling and guarantee precise temperature control. The chillers in the new TCX series cover cooling capacities from 4 to 90 kW. The range will be expanded in the short term with additional products offering outputs of up to 220 kW. Process cooling systems are primarily used in the industrial segments of food production and processing, medicine/pharmaceuticals, plastics production and in the metal industry, e.g. for laser cutting. One of the key features of the TCX series is its compact design, which includes both the cooling section and the hydraulic section. It is therefore particularly suitable for applications directly at the point of use and applications that can be cooled with a water circuit. The controllable and freely adjustable temperature range of the outgoing water is between -5°C and + 25°C. The TCX chillers are specially designed for cooling water (or a mixture of water and glycol).
Energy-efficient and ready for Industry 4.0
The TCX series complies with the EcoDesign Directive 2021 (2009/125/EC) and is therefore highly energy efficient. The design of the TCX series microchannel condensers requires 30% less refrigerant, making the process chillers more environmentally friendly while reducing potential maintenance costs over the life of the chiller. SMARTLINK 24/7 remote monitoring is available as part of the overall chiller package, making this new range Industry 4.0 ready.
Control with touch-and-swipe navigation
For control and monitoring, the TCX chillers* are equipped with the latest electronic icon touch control, which features a 4.3-inch high-resolution color display and touch-and-swipe navigation - for user-friendly operation with finger touches and swipes.
The control unit monitors all important operating parameters, such as the water outlet temperature or operating statuses. In addition, the Smartlink functionality for wireless remote monitoring is already integrated ex works. This software continuously records, documents and analyzes numerous operating data and offers the user full transparency. Administrative work is kept to a minimum.
