Chemistry days with exciting topics on pre- and post-treatment

The Austrian Chemistry Days will take place for the 20th time from September 23 to 25 at TU Graz, Campus New Technology. The conference is organized by the Society of Austrian Chemists (GÖCH). The GÖCH has been in existence since 1897 and has represented the field of chemistry in all its facets and in the interests of Austrian chemists for over 125 years. This year, the Hungarian Chemical Society (MKE) is acting as the official partner society of the event.

The theme of this year's meeting, "Bio-based Chemistry and Technology", is seen in a very broad and open context, as all the different disciplines and areas represented within and outside the GÖCH will be making contributions. Component cleaning and chemical surface treatment will also be a key topic area.

The 20th Chemistry Days 2024 will offer a wide-ranging program with keynote lectures by Ben Feringa, Pablo Rivera-Fuentes, Regina Palkovits, Matthias Beller, Brigitte Voit and András Szarka. Parallel lecture blocks make the program extensive and varied. The GÖCH Chemistry Days want to give the next generation the opportunity to present their research. In addition to their own lecture block, young colleagues will also be given the opportunity to present posters. The various program items are intended to facilitate an exchange across all areas and disciplines.

The program is rounded off by convivial evenings with Styrian (southern Austrian) cuisine, which invite intensive exchange and discussion. In addition, two excursions to nearby industrial companies, such as Anton Paar and BDI-BioEnergy, will be organized.

The Austrian Chemistry Days thus offer a good opportunity to gain an overview of chemistry in Austria and to strengthen cooperation between research institutions and industry.
