The Aachen-based energy trading company Trianel and N-E-ST GmbH from Ahaus are working together to connect renewable energies and other storage and generation systems to Trianel's virtual power plant. The Münsterland-based company is supporting Trianel with flexible telecontrol technology that enables a wide range of systems to be connected to the virtual power plant. Trianel bundles around 700 decentralized generation plants with an output of over 3,000 MW in its own virtual power plant, which corresponds to the output of around four large power plants. The plants are controlled via a joint Trianel control system in Aachen and marketed on the electricity markets. Virtual power plants play an important role in the stability of the grids due to the growing number of smaller plants.
