The DGO Nuremberg district group is known for its Christmas parties, summer parties and sociable specialist discussions. At the BG event on March 11, 2025, the 28 participants included not only some "non-Franconians" and "non-Upper Palatines", but also three visitors from Switzerland and one from as far away as Thailand.
The invitations sent out by e-mail are apparently being passed on, even across German borders. The special topic of "hard chrome plating from trivalent chromium electrolytes" certainly also played a role, as it apparently aroused cross-border interest among the hard chrome platers. In any case, the very special visit from Asia went down in the annals of BG Nuremberg. And there will also be a reunion with the well-traveled guest, as the planning for an excursion to the Thai electroplating world is already underway. In a few years' time, one of the co-founders of the Thai Electroplating Association has invited BG Nuremberg there. There is certainly a great deal of interest: potential participants have already registered.
