With a ground-breaking ceremony on June 17, 2025, Stüken has started the construction of a new electroplating plant in the Rinteln-Süd industrial area. The internationally active family business is investing around 29.5 million euros in the project. It is currently one of the largest electroplating projects in Europe. Stüken is a manufacturer of precision deep-drawn parts for the automotive industry, medical technology, electronics and household appliances, among others. The company already operates a barrel electroplating plant.

Dr. Uwe Krismann, CEO, praised the company's entrepreneurial courage and thanked the shareholders and advisory board for their support in difficult economic times. Numerous guests from politics, planning, the project team and the media attended the event, which also looked back on the successful and rapid project preparation.

The new plant is being built on 5,000 m² and expands the existing know-how to include galvanic and chemical processes. The aim is to develop sustainable deep-drawing solutions with applications in electromobility, medical technology, sensor technology and energy technology. CO₂-neutral operation is achieved with photovoltaics and heat pumps, among other things. Commissioning is planned for the end of 2027, initially with around 15 employees.

In addition to the state-of-the-art lead plant with research and development expertise, a new electroplating plant will be built. This will expand Stüken's technical capabilities to include surface coatings, particularly for electrical applications (e.g. connectors and contacts) and wear protection solutions (e.g. actuators and plain bearings). Medical technology components made of titanium (e.g. implant housings) can be chemically treated and, if required, anodized.
