The Connectors User Congress took place at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg from May 26 to 28, 2025. The event was aimed at experts from the fields of electronics, automation, automotive, telecommunications and medical technology and offered insights into the design, selection and use of modern connectors.

With around 415 participants, 55 speakers, 42 presentations and 64 exhibitors, the congress was very well attended. The supporting program included basic seminars on topics such as contact physics, materials, EMC and cable technology. There were also specialist presentations covering current trends, including AI applications, sustainability and new materials and coating solutions. There were also hands-on workshops that offered practical insights into areas such as quality control, leak testing and EMC-compliant design. As an exhibitor at the congress, Schlötter also had the opportunity to present processes for coating contact surfaces and meet with industry experts.

The discussions focused on topics such as the use of silver-graphite layers, a process from the Slotoconnect range, as well as indium as a final surface and new developments in tarnish protection for silver. There were also discussions about new surfaces that could be used as gold substitutes in some places in the future and are currently being qualified and assessed for various contact pairings. Other industry companies such as Atotech, Wieland, IMO Oberflächentechnik, Umicore, Rosenberger, Plating Precision Pforzheim and Saxonia Galvanik were also represented in Würzburg.
