Gerweck GmbH Oberflächentechnik from Bretten in Baden-Württemberg has won the Großer Preis de Mittelstands. The prize is awarded regionally to three companies in each federal state.
In Baden-Württemberg, 1088 medium-sized companies were nominated. Gerweck was able to convince the jury in the five categories of overall company development, creating or securing jobs and apprenticeships, modernization and innovation, commitment to the region as well as service, customer proximity and marketing. Gerweck employs 180 people and, as a specialist company for surface technology, refines and electroplates metallic surfaces of a wide range of products for its customers and is one of only a few contract coaters to enter the field of strip electroplating. Today, Gerweck generates 85% of its turnover in this area. The company takes care to treat nature responsibly and to conserve resources, for example through state-of-the-art wastewater treatment and the recovery of raw materials.
