QSIL will take over three production sites in Germany, England and China from the H.C. Starck Group for the production and development of refractory metal solutions as well as a sales location in India. The 250 employees of the companies in Hermsdorf (DE), Calne (GB), Taicang (CN) and Bangalore (IN) will become part of the QSIL family. This brings the number of employees to over 1,000 and an annual turnover of over 200 million euros.

The existing manufacturing technologies for the production, processing and refinement of products made of the high-performance metals molybdenum, niobium, tantalum and tungsten represent a suitable strategic development for the Thuringian QSIL group of companies. "We see ourselves facing a promising future as a leading specialist for refractory, high-purity high-performance materials," said Heinz Fabian, Michael Keitz and Erik Neuberg, Managing Directors of QSIL SE.

At the Calne site, the competence center for the production of environmentally friendly and ultra-modern thermal management products made of molybdenum, tungsten and copper, electroplating is also carried out in addition to lapping and welding.
