With the joint ground-breaking ceremony of the cooperation partners Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the construction of the "Karlsruhe Research Factory" has begun. From the end of 2020, new production technologies will be tested and transferred to industry much faster than previously planned using state-of-the-art digitalization methods in the 15 million facility on KIT's Campus East. The project will make an important contribution to the German government's recently adopted "Artificial Intelligence Strategy" and is considered significant for Germany's innovative strength as a business location.
