The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement conducts a quarterly survey of its 450 members on economic development. The industry generated sales growth of 7% in the first quarter compared to the previous quarter. Incoming orders rose by 6% at the beginning of the year compared to the previous quarter. The industry is showing a positive overall trend.
AMA members remain cautious and do not expect sales growth to continue in the second quarter. "Overall, the sensor and measurement technology sector is well positioned and can meet the demand of user industries thanks to the gradual disappearance of supply bottlenecks. Our members are investing in research and development to remain competitive and bring innovative products to market," says Thomas Simmons, Managing Director of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement. "(...) According to the IFO Institute, the inflation rate is likely to fall further in the coming months. This means average price declines in input costs, especially energy prices. This will also relieve the supplier industries in the medium term," says Simmons.
