The first edition of Metal + Tech in Foshan from November 27 to 30 has come to a successful close. With Metal + Tech, Deutsche Messe Hannover and its subsidiary Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai set out to establish an international trade fair for sheet metal working in one of China's most important production locations. This plan was a success. 7690 trade visitors came to the Guangdong (Tanzhou) International Convention and Exhibition Center over the four days of the fair to find out about innovative products and solutions from 100 exhibitors from Germany, Italy, the USA, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
"Metal + Tech got off to a successful start," said Andreas Luttmann, Director Global Fairs at Deutsche Messe AG Hannover. "The premiere has shown that there is a need for an international sheet metal working trade fair in southern China that is specifically tailored to the regional requirements of the market. We will therefore consistently develop the format further and expand it in terms of application areas, internationality and significance in the market." Metal + Tech will be held annually in future.
The exhibitors showcased a broad portfolio of high-tech products from all areas of metal and sheet metal processing - from machine tools, sheet metal processing and production to construction molds and tools. New products at the trade fair included a 15 kW laser cutting machine from Han's Laser and a servo-controlled CNC turret punch press from Tailift. Deratech showcased a robotic arm for metal forming, while welding table manufacturer Siegmund presented its Mobile Workstation, which won the German Industry Award 2018. RAS also presented an innovative swivel bending machine.
Metal + Tech offered the exhibiting companies good opportunities to tap into new markets. They were able to make many business contacts with experts from China and neighboring Asian countries and were satisfied with the quality of the discussions and the course of the trade fair. In addition
the gala evening on the first day of the fair offered around 200 guests
numerous opportunities to make new contacts and exchange ideas with business partners and industry colleagues.
"The southern Chinese market for metalworking is one of the key markets for our company. We presented our products at Metal + Tech and attracted many visitors there, also thanks to the professional trade fair organization. Therefore, we are already planning our participation for next year. We are now looking forward to further dynamic growth in Foshan and at Metal + Tech," says Chen Huanqun, Vice General Manager, Tailift Group, Taiwan.
The next Metal + Tech will be held in Foshan in November 2019.
