ZVO comments on planned H2 ramp-up

The availability of hydrogen for companies and consumers remains low. At the same time, hydrogen is becoming increasingly relevant as a process gas or as an energy source in times of increasing decarbonization in industry.

The new German government therefore took action before the summer break and presented an initial legislative initiative to ramp up hydrogen and improve the framework conditions for the production of this climate-neutral gas with the draft bill "Act to accelerate the availability of hydrogen (...)".

Electroplating and surface technology particularly dependent on the future availability of hydrogen

As an energy and heat-intensive industry, electroplating and surface technology is particularly dependent on the future availability of hydrogen as a replacement for natural gas as an energy source, the ZVO emphasizes on its website.

Due to this relevance for the industry, a statement has been prepared containing positive aspects of the draft law as well as additions and suggestions from the perspective of electroplating and surface technology.
