Due to the pandemic, celebrations will take place later, but the management and employees can already look back on the thirty-year history of L&R Kältetechnik GmbH with some pride.
Founded in May 1991, the company has remained true to its core competence: Project planning, construction and commissioning of tailor-made industrial refrigeration systems that are characterized by high efficiency. Founded by Josef Lübke and Burkhard Rüßmann, the company initially focused on plastics processing as its target market. In the early years, L&R developed and built cryo-deburring systems for molded rubber parts with temperatures as low as -110 °C, among other things. Today, plastics (tool and hydraulic cooling) and rubber processing (mold cooling and rubber deburring) are still among the main customer sectors. Equally important are surface technology (electroplating/anodizing), chemical technology (process cooling) and the pharmaceutical industry (cooling, freezing and storage).
L&R designs refrigeration systems that meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency and sustainability for all areas of application. This is why energy-saving technologies (variable condensation temperature control, winter relief through free cooling, pumps and fans with variable-speed drives) have been used for many years, as well as natural refrigerants such as ammonia, propane, propene andCO2.
In 2002, Burkhard Rüßmann took over the business shares from Josef Lübke; since 2014, his sons André and Sebastian have strengthened the company management as technical and commercial managing directors. L&R recently expanded the management team with Thomas Imenkämper, who took over responsibility for sales.
In the three decades since it was founded, L&R has grown continuously and now employs 137 people. The systems are in use worldwide. They are planned with a high level of engineering expertise and built with a high level of vertical integration. Burkhard Rüßmann: "We pursue a holistic concept that comes from a single source." This is ensured by a highly trained team of employees: "We attach great importance to in-house training and the consistent further training and development of our employees. At the end of the day, they impress the customer. In project discussions or in service. With this concept, we will continue to grow in the coming years."
