On July 24, the managing partner of Riesmetall GmbH, Joachim Ramisch, invited the participants of the Munich district group to explore his electroplating company, founded in 1973, in detail on site.

Not only the size of the company, but also the in-depth insights into the coating technology of unalloyed acid galvanizing as bulk material in the barrel and as suspended material on the rack were impressive. In addition to close, personal customer relationships, the company's success is based on the slow plating concept. Long exposure times at low flows, quadruple stationary rinsing cascades and low-temperature drying are characteristic of a production method that achieves energy and material savings by focusing on economical methods that make do with the least complicated technology possible. The total production area of 2,400 m² is constantly being modernized. A total of four workers are employed here.

The company tour was followed by a joint lunch for professional and personal discussions among the participants. The BG then paid a visit to the fully preserved historic battlements of the Nördlingen city wall. After a short tour of the inviting old town, refreshments were served on the market square between the town hall and the "Daniel", the tower of the town church, which is also the landmark of the town of Nördlingen and can be seen from afar.

The district group would like to thank Joachim Ramisch for the many details and anecdotes from his more than 50 years as an electroplating contractor. A look inside the company's own vintage car workshop made the visit an extraordinary and varied day for the 20 or so participants.
