OTH Hagen is on the way to climate neutrality - the surface specialist'scarbon footprint is here: the certificate from ecocockpit shows the ecological footprint at the Hagen production site. "On this basis, we will now plan further steps to optimize ourcarbon footprint in a targeted manner and become even more sustainable," says Managing Director Udo Gensowski.
The decision to calculate emissions was made voluntarily; so far, the balance sheet has only been mandatory for larger companies. OTH has already made a conscious decision to do so, "as the topic makes sense and affects us all." Avoiding, reducing and offsetting is the goal of the medium-sized electroplating company, which galvanizes, pickles, passivates, deburrs and coats a wide variety of workpieces. OTH has drawn up its transparentcarbon footprint with the support of zeero, the Center for Energy, Efficiency and Resource Optimization of the Ennepe-Ruhr GmbH business development agency. The experts took a close look at direct and indirectCO2 emissions, from Scope 1 to 3.
Initially for the Hagen site - investigations into processes and products will follow. Based on the available data, OTH will be able to take efficient measures in future to reduce or offset emissions in a targeted manner.
