At this year's Rhineland Business Night, SPH Sustainable Process Heat GmbH was awarded the prize in the "Start-up" category. The Overath-based company produces an innovative and extremely efficient high-temperature heat pump for industry - the ThermBooster. At the heart of the heat pump is a special piston compressor. In combination with environmentally friendly refrigerants and innovative process technology, the ThermBooster is one of the first industrial heat pumps in the world that can generate steam at temperatures of up to 165 degrees and higher.
This makes production processes more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly - the use of green electricity even enables completelyCO2-free heat generation. Since its founding by the two Managing Directors Andreas Mück and Dr. Tim Hamacher in 2020, the company has already registered three patents and is now working on projects worldwide.
The two have known each other professionally for years and have around 50 years of combined experience in engine and air conditioning technology. Three years ago, they jointly realized their vision of increasing energy efficiency in industry and reducingCO2 emissions.
The successful founders feel vindicated by the award: "Together, we have committed ourselves to sustainability and are obviously well on the way to successfully leading our company into the future," they both agree.
