Association founded - Sustainable Agri-PV organizes itself in Berlin

Representatives from companies, the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and three farmers involved in Agri-PV projects founded the Association for Sustainable Agri-PV (VnAP) at the beginning of October. This coincided with the first National Agri-PV Forum in Berlin, so that interested parties could become members directly.

Agri-photovoltaics (Agri-PV) refers to a process for the simultaneous use of land for agricultural plant production (photosynthesis) and PV electricity production (photovoltaics).

Simultaneous use of land for photosynthesis and photovoltaics

The aim of the association is to advocate framework conditions that promote the potential of agrivoltaics in Germany in order to make it a fundamental pillar of the energy transition. The association will bundle the interests of its members and represent them to the public and all key stakeholders. The interests of farmers will be taken into account in decisions made by the Board of Directors.

The founding companies are Next2Sun, inventor of innovation and technology leaders in vertical bifacial photovoltaics, REM Tec, a globally active company in the field of agrivoltaics, Elysium Solar, which develops subsidy-free solar projects of a new generation with genuine agricultural multiple use on at least 90% of the site areas (Agri-PV) and CAV Partners, which structures Clean Asset & Values (CAV) and manages sustainable capital investments such as individual fund and special mandate solutions.
