BW Minister of Economic Affairs visits Spiraltec GmbH

A distinguished visitor to Spiraltec GmbH: On January 25, Managing Director and owner Holger P. Härter welcomed Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg (BW), to Sachsenheim to discuss the political framework and the future of technological innovations in Baden-Württemberg.

Spiraltec has developed coiled membrane modules for the membrane separation process of diffusion dialysis and realized the countercurrent principle. The technology is used for the removal of metals and the recovery of free acids or free alkalis from used treatment baths in surface technology, the printed circuit board industry and the semiconductor industry.

"Baden-Württemberg has a leading position in the field of environmental technologies," explained Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut.

Spiraltec was selected for a visit because it is considered an innovative SME in the field of environmental technologies. "Baden-Württemberg has a leading position in the field of environmental technologies. In order to secure and further expand this position, we need not only large established companies but also highly innovative small companies that open up markets with new products. We want to provide the best possible political framework conditions for these companies," explained Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut.

"With its globally protected and unique products, Spiraltec GmbH wants to contribute to enabling wastewater-free production processes all over the world in the future. Our spiral winding modules, which enable counter-current operation of fluids, are used to recover valuable metals, acids and alkalis. We have also developed a new type of system design for separating pollutants from wastewater, which can be used to precipitate heavy metals, dyes or other organic substances, for example," said Holger P. Härter during the exchange with the Minister, who was impressed by the products presented.
