Electrodeposition of amorphous Co-W alloys by pulse current
Application of pulse current made it possible to obtain an X-ray amorphous Co-W alloy at a lower concentration of the amorphizing component (sodium tungstate salts; Na2WO4) of 8 g/L in an aqueous electrolyte solution compared to the deposition mode using direct current (11 g/L). It has been found that increased concentration of sodium tungstate in aqueous electrolyte solution from 12 g/L to 16 g/L and, accordingly, tungsten content in the alloy from 32.2 wt.% to 35 wt.%, resulted in the enhancement of microhardness of electrodeposited films from 4800 MPa to 5600 MPa.
